It was always there once you reached 500K. The change is that it now seems to be there for everyone.

So now I can tell my wife is at 300k. She must have flown nearly a million miles on rewards...

I am averaging just under 600 AQM per segment (450 BIS per segment) since 2010.

I know I am missing a large amount of segments and AQM between 1997 and 2001 (Canadian flights).

Based on current pattern I will cross the 1MM threshold in September 2020 (on approximately 1700 segments), but am seriously considering a few mileage runs next year to get to 1MM by the end of 2019 (with less segments and a much higher average AQM/segment!!).

100,000 AQM should do it. Anyone want to crunch the numbers and provide some options??
I used the wrong AQM in my calcs above (total AQM instead of MM AQM):
I have earned just over 80% 75% of my AQM since the start of 2014. 640,000 593,500 AQM on just over 1000 segments.

I am averaging just under 600 550 AQM per segment (450 BIS per segment) since 20102014.

Based on current pattern I will cross the 1MM threshold in September 2020 (on approximately 1700 1900 segments).

I am going for the record of most segments flown to reach 1MM!

I'd say sympathies, but in fairness I could just keep purchasing a UFP for the next two years and I could reach 1MM without flying another segment.... hmmmmm

Done 100,000 miles in 8 weeks thus far in 2019 which would put me on pace for roughly 650,000 miles this year. Not going to happen, but given that I am on pace for 133,000 miles in Q1-2019, I figure I'll cross 1MM late-November 2019 if I keep that pace going.

Based on what I have flown so far and what I have booked, I will be 5,293 AQM shy of 1 MM by mid April!

Now to find that perfect flight, travel in J, in my favourite seat and make sure the crew knows I will hit 1MM, lol

May 25 I will depart YYZ on a comfort fare with 1248 miles until MM status.
Just after the halfway point to YVR I will cross the million mile mark.
I will probably be sleeping.

I would have crossed the MM mark this month, but AA was charging 1/3 the price of an AC ticket to BZE.

Will be crossing the 1MM mark on an upcoming flight, seated in 43H on a 789. What a way to cross this threshold!
canadiancow and Bohemian1 like this.

Godspeed to you all.
I hope I find the right bridge before spring 2021. That's all.
