AP Miles AQM question

New to this.

I recently did a round trip YYZ to FLR via FRA, in AC business lowest P, the leg from FRA to FLR on the way was Y , the return FLR to FRA
P.

Turns out the Luftansa legs were only credit at 50% mileage , my Air Canada app showed credit was to be 125% and original ticket shows the same,

What gives?

Bought ticket direct from Air Canada website, no luck pursuing with AC or Aeroplan.

Welcome to FT!

LH credits Y and P at 50% inside Europe, so that is correct. (It would be 125% and 100% respectively if this was outside of Europe).

Where did you see an indication that you would get more miles exactly?

welcome to Flyertalk

You always reference the award chart as its the gospel when it comes to this!

I looked and Lufthansa credits 50% for P fares

Always look at who's metal you are are flying on!

My air canada app indicted 125 % for LH legs when viewing fare features,

I have a similar flight coming up for Salzburg and fare features in my app shows the same thing.

PY ( P or O ) are 125% on Air Canada but other Star Alliance partners may not recognize this. You have to check the chart. I learned this a long time ago with codeshare flights! Always know the rules before you commit!

Sorry man, but you are learning now.

Unfortunately, when it comes to mileage accrual the Air Canada website and app are not accurate in this regard.

I guess I am learning, ah well at least the business legs of the flight were enjoyable, signature lounge was nice too.

Pleasant surprise on a codeshare flight with United last week - IAD-YYZ - in "W" netted 346 AQM (so I presume 100%) where the outbound YYZ-IAD on AC metal only gave me 179 i.e. 50%.. Was expecting 50% each way.

a suggestion is, perhaps you can call in for your next flight and see what the cost would be to upgrade the fare? You pay the fare difference for a higher class that may get you the points you want. Sometimes its cheap? I did this three years ago LHR-YUL-YYC where it was only $25 and I just said yes! So that may work, BUT check the chart to make sure!

Agreed that sometimes upfaring (and sometimes, surprisingly (?), to a higher cabin) can be relatively cheap. But sometimes you'll never know until you ask. Never assume that the next higher fare or cabin is out of reach!
