Air Canada Rouge B767-300; What a beater!

I flew home yesterday from FLL via YUL on an Air Canada Rouge B767-300. It's been years since I was in one of these aircraft and I was pretty surprised at how run down it was. What a beater! Also, I had forgotten how small the overhead bins are in these aircraft. I will avoid them in the future.

I rather sit in a 767-300 Rogue plus than POS garbage known as Y in 737 MAX or 777HD though

After the flight on the 763, I was on a 7M8. According to the AC website, both have 30" pitch, 18" width and 3" recline in the Y cabin. I didn't feel any more cramped in the 7M8 than I did in the 763. The 763 had non-existent room in the overhead bins and non-existent IFE, so the 7M8 is overwhelmingly better. As for the 777HD, according to the AC website, it has 31" pitch, 17" width and 6" recline.) As much as I dislike such a narrow seat, I would even prefer it over the 763. (Haven't the original 777HDs been converted to the new interior at least?)

Rogue Plus gives you 35 pitch and a 2-3-2 seating plan beats 3-3 anyday.

How about comparing Rouge Plus with preferred seats on the 7M8 or 777? That would be a more relevant point of comparison.

Thought I would dash in here and add that not all Rouge J cabin overhead bins are the small type.
Fins 690-4 ,IIRC, have larger bins. These birds came over from Hawaii, again if memory serves me well

Yes this is correct. There may be a few others with the larger bins too.

I’ve read on other forums that all 767s will be outfitted with new bins, but I haven’t heard of an official confirmation of those plans.

What class of service? If Y, you can't expect much at all.

I have been in worse.

I took the 1623 to YYZ ex FLL on the same day and our 767 (row 34) was heaving at the seams. I almost have to induce a zen like trance to ward off claustrophobia! Then I snagged an eupgrade to PE on the 125 to YVR and got my first ever middle seat in PE! Butter chicken wasn't THAT bad.... but man was it great to get home....

I thought about that, but in the 1980s, they were new, not filthy and run-down.

The J/PY hard product is terrible in these planes. Uncomfortable cushioning, narrow, very little space for bags. Really harkens back over a decade. Might be okay for FOTSG leisure flyers on some routes, but I'd much rather be on a narrowbody on anything within North America or to the Caribbean.
