yyz-del on TK is $3100 in business class perhaps BOM is also, but either way who would pay $5500 for the AC nonstop with poor service? I have flown AC 343s 345, 787, and 777 to India over the years, and AC has got a horrible reputation in India from its 343 days with left baggage and cancelled flights. Oh well its a "new" AC these days perhaps they are trying to be nicer to Indian customers.
Oh wait! maybe not.

Often, it's not when you arrive, it's how you feel when you get there. My time has on occasion been worth $350/hr, but if I had the choice and nothing obligated for the day of arrival, I'd select superior comfort & price over a shorter duration.

On top of that, the YYZ-DEL/BOM flights depart and arrive at a great time. Leave YYZ and go to sleep for 4-5hrs during the YYZ night; stay awake for the remainder of the flight, arrive in the evening and then asleep again at midnight India time. Voila - you're now on local time with no jetlag .

Turn the tables. Why would you risk a connection - let alone in IST - when the AC direct flight means you'll get there without interruption (in theory). I am a big proponent of the ULH flights and will happily sit on a 15+ hr AC flight rather than 2x8hr flights and deal with connections.

However IST should be a lot better come January. Should.

Mumbai is closer than you think
The Nov edition of the in flight mag contained this ad:
Enjoy the convenience of our non-stop flight from Toronto to Mumbai
Did they cancel and then do an about-face.
