AC announces expanded Vancouver long haul services for 2019

Sorry about the title - no new routes, just new flights

All services are 787s.
https://www.newswire.ca/news-release...696921811.html

Delhi goes daily year round

Melbourne goes to 4x weekly year-round

Summer service to ZRH increases to five weekly.

Osaka goes to 5x weekly for summer schedule

New routes are a lot more exciting . Still I think this is a good indicator that recent new routes are doing well.

I know some people who will like YVRZRH.

I'm happy about YVRKIX finally ML'd. (or was it once a long time ago?)

Indeed it was. I flew that route at least twice. 2002 and 2003. On 343s.

Yeah, figured it was around then. Well, happy to see it back! Exciting!

I know someone mentioned the ML-ing of KIX in another thread last month, but nice to finally see it official.

Yes. We love KIX (Osaka).
My gripe was that I would not want to fly Rouge to get there. Now the problem is solved.

I always did TYO then train ride(s) to Shinagawa and then Tokaido Shinkansen. Still might do this from time to time but happy to have the ML option to KIX.

Why not fly to HND then connect to ITM?

I don't know. I guess I view Shinkansen akin to flying. \_(ツ)_/

Looks like CDG is also still on the schedule for next summer. Wasn't sure if that one would work out.

Nice to see MEL doing well

More options to Australia is always a good thing. Loads have been solid in my anecdotal experience

Loads are never a good measure of how well a route is doing - plane can be full but doesn't make it profitable. Clearly is, though if they are increasing frequency.

Very true. Australia has been a good profit route for AC for a while. Given the full planes and an increase in service, I would say AC is happy with MEL.

I predict more news for YVR, as there's now a space in the schedule on the off-days where the YVR-MEL flight doesn't operate. I think there'll be a 3x weekly YVR-SIN or YVR-BOM flight starting around June 1st.
