AE Redemption in N Class ... how to upgrade?

Title pretty much says it all ... I believe that an X fare (AE redemption in Economy) with the current promo is upgradable using E-upgrades ... seems odd that can't do it with an N Class fare ...(AE redemption in PE)

Does anyone have any ideas if this is possible and how to go about doing it? Thanks.

Last Minute Upgrades or bid for an upgrade. Or you could all into Aeroplan, pay a change fee and use extra miles to have your ticket re-issued in I, if space is available.

Can't these currently be upgraded in the normal way using eUpgrades?

No.

I missed that it's not a "classic" reward...

It actually does not matter. Using eUpgrades for X class is considered as a promotion (even though it has been going on for a long time) .. there is no such promotion from N.

I don't know if AC just doesn't want people to do it, of if it is "techinical limitation" (aka bad IT) :)

To me, this is the most logical explanation - i.e. a 'technical limitation'. I'm happy to provide the same number of e-Upgrades as if it was being upgraded from X (i.e. 21).

Correct. I went through this myself not too long ago.
