Gin and Tonic issue: no Tonic

Asked for a G&T on 873 today, FA advised there was no tonic on the plane as the tonic they were using started to explode in flight due to a change in the formula used in the tonic.

It would be nice if AC went to Fever-Tree!

anyone use these before?

A little pricey but perhaps would help the OP issue.

Temporary issue. Non-combustible tonic is making it's way back into the system.

Happened to me flying DUB to YUL on Tuesday. Had to make do with club soda and lemon with my gin. Frankly schweppes is awful tonic, but better than no tonic. Agreed on the need for Fever Tree.

Explains why there was none on my trans-con flight last week. I was tempted to ask for a 10% code but sometimes (and that was one of those times) money can't buy happiness.

Or frozen with a shot of olive brine and breathes on by a vermouth drinking SD mixing it.

Thank you, I was having heart palpitations thinking there was no GT on my flights tomorrow...

There are some lovely artisanal gins that are great sipped. Sloe gin definitely great sipped.

I would be very concerned about exploding beverages.

Given the obsession TSA and CASTA has with bottled water, imagine what would be involved with potentially exploding tonic.

I have a bottle of tonic in my fridge. Should I be worried?
