Seating with reverse & table?

A colleague snapped this shot on an early September flight from YYZ-YUL. I'm not an AC flyer, but am super curious: what equipment is this and what's going on with the seat configuration? I've only ever seen 2x2 seats facing each other on Via, and never on a plane with a table between them. And, can't sniff out what the aircraft is - looks like an A320ish sized plane but with all domestic business seats. A layout like this doesn't seem to appear on seat guru either.

Anyone have any insight into the config and aircraft? Super curious!

It's an AC Jetz A319. AC Jetz has two A319s configured in this type of VIP layout with 2x2 business class only.

Is your colleague on a chartered flight?

Air Canada Jetz configuration. I have flown in it a couple of times. Happens occasionally on the YYZ-YOW/YUL routes as this is the charter jet configuration to transport sports teams.

Typically used for sport teams

Fascinating, thanks! No, it sounds like it might have been an equipment sub on the route - he was on a normally booked economy ticket.

Thanks for the info, folks :).

I flew Jetz aircraft on the IAD/PHL - YUL/YYZ routes approximately 15 years ago. For whatever reason back then, my flights were subbed by Jetz aircraft many times. it was such a nice surprise when the originally planned metal was a CRJ! :)
