Mileage earning % question - segment or trip based?

Mileage earning % question - segment or trip based?

Say I fly YYC-YYZ-LGA and booked it on one ticket in Standard, where the starting point is Canada and ending point is USA

Do I earn:
1) 25% YYC-YYZ and 50% YYZ-LGA
or
2) 50% YYC-YYZ-LGA?

I flew similar in January, looks to be 25% for YYZ-YEG and 50% for EWR-YYZ

Yes, option 1 is correct, stay as much in the US if you want the miles 50% vs 25%.

I do YYC.YVR.EWR so most are in the US and upgrading to PY is easy. Or just do YYC.EWR.

LGA you are stuck through YYZ/YUL
