SD came back to economy and gave desserts to all the SE100Ks

On flight from YUL to YYC today, the SD came back to economy and gave desserts to all the SE100Ks sitting in economy.

They got ice cream, cookie served on a ceramic plate with a metal spoon.

There were about 6 of them.

Saves on cooling and fuel costs

Did you check the expiry date (ie was it today)?

Maybe its a new enhancement?

A few hundred grams of weight onboard are still a few hundred grams, whether eaten or not. The only change in weight during a flight is the actual consumption of fuel.

That being said, I wonder if the flight just happened to be over-catered.

Science says the weight is the same, just transferred from airline to passenger.

Yeah yeah I did wonder about this after posting. It was kinda early.

Still saves on costs for the return

Though on those direct flights with a technical stop, one could say those passengers after a few bottles of a wine are a real drag..

People might digest a little and breathe out some CO2? I hope theyre not counting on that for fuel savings! 😉

I see discrimination and a cabin full of angry passengers. Safety concerns should be raised here.

I thought this was the kind of thing we didn't talk about with specifics, just in case

It's definitely a treat to get something for free when you happen to be stuck in Y.

Hmmm....I am doing a YVR-YYZ today

I will wait for my cookies with excitement !

Although...on my YYZ-YYC I didn't get any cookies

Any way...very nice gesture. It is the little things that would be nice to see more often

I'll sure everyone else was simply delighted.
I'm also sure AC couldn't care less.
