Will I be served a meal on Transborder Economy connecting to International ticket?
Hi all,
I will be flying from LAX to NRT with a connection in YVR in economy class. According to AC website:
"When you travel on a direct International flight that includes a stop in a Canadian city, you will be offered a complimentary snack and a complimentary meal item on the domestic portion of your flight."
This means I should be able to get a meal or snack for my LAX-YVR portion of the flight I assume?
Would I need to tell FA that I am an international passenger or will they know from my seat assignment? Although it may not be much or tasty but this will help me decide whether I need to purchase food at the airport prior to boarding.
Thank you so much in advance!

When I see "Direct International Flight" that includes a "stop" in a Canadian city, I think of AC33, so I would say that no, you won't get a meal/snack LAX YVR in Y based on this.

Do you have a link to that quote/sentence? What was the fare family/class that you purchased?

But if the OP is correct, BP will have PR07 on it which means if you show it to the FA you will get a snack and meal.

They gave an example of YYZ-YVR-HKG. Food will be complimentary from YYZ-YVR

If the wording of "domestic" also applies to USA/transborder, then it would apply to your LAX YVR, however, I think the wording is not the best here, so... Ż\_(ツ)_/Ż
Perhaps someone who sits in Y on these itineraries can shed some light.

But OP flies Lax-Yvr-Tyo. IMHO no complimentary food on Lax-Yvr unless flying on Latitude fare (LA7 or whatever code would then be printed on the B/Pass). The information quoted applies to e.g. Yyz-Yvr-Syd which is the same aircraft operation.

However, the OP correctly pointed out that the wording by Air Canada gave the example of YYZ YVR HKG, in which no such direct flight with a stopover at YVR exists as one flight number. It's two separate flight numbers.
So to me, the only remaining question is whether "domestic" applies to LAX YVR.
If this applies to the OP, then the OP should expect some code on their BP like yourself and others have suggested.

Not sure how, but the OP should be able to get someone at AC to confirm this in advance of the start of his trip, not to find out once he boards that all he gets is the packet of pretzels and a soft drink/juice

So you are saying the example provided by the AC website is incorrect or severely outdated? Because I'm in agreement despite what the website says.
For everyone else, note that the statement by AC below is economy fare-independent.

The example is severely outdated, and the rest is poorly worded.
