Hotel Options:
Most hotels from mainstream chains (Marriott/Starwood, Hilton, Fairmont) are located in or close to the Old Quebec neighbourhood which is about 7-8 km from the venue. ALT and Plaza Québec on the list below are the two hotels closest to the pre-dinner event and dinner and are within walking distance.
Marriott:
The Courtyard Quebec City is further out of the Old city while the other 2 are well located. The Marriott Downtown is in a great location to walk around the Old city, so is the Delta but the Delta has less charm.
Starwood:
PUR - Located in St-Roch neighbourhood, a vibrant area of the city.
The FourPoints Sheraton is in Levis, across the St-Lawrence river, which would mean quite a ride from the venue (about 20 km). Not recommended because of location/distance.
Hilton:
The Hilton is well located, close to the Old city. Older hotel but may have been refurbished not too long ago.
The Hampton Inn is also in Levis across the river. Not recommended because of location
Fairmont:
Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is located in the heart of Old Quebec.
Boutique or other hotels (part of smaller chains):
ALT https://www.althotels.com/en/quebec/
Plaza Québec by Jaro https://www.hotelsjaro.com/plaza-quebec/en/
Palace Royal by Jaro https://www.hotelsjaro.com/palace-royal/en/

I'm still waiting for my class schedule (I get it sometime in July), so I'll confirm once I know I can actually make it
... And hopefully YEG-YQB will go below $700 by then

Just a suggestion for those that haven't solidified plans, we could do a small gathering the day before in YUL.
I'm planning to likely drive up to YQB, so could take +2. Maybe +3 depending on if we do Rouge configuration in the back seat (use code ROUGECIVIC for 15% OFF).

Also, any reason why we're eating in Ste Foy?
It's near les plaines, but it's not le vieux Québec.
I mean, I have family there so I am pretty familiar with the area, and it's a cool hangout place. But just saying.

Here is a fun idea for you to do.
Since there are a few YQB locals - our hosts - and few FTers are planning to make a weekend of it in Québec City and come up on Friday and leave on Sunday, you could always organize a Pre-Do.
Perhaps Friday night in le vieux Québec
Perhaps the after-party party Saturday night
Peerhaps Saturday or Sunday brunch.
Or you can even help the hosts organize some of the sightseeing we have suggested upthread.
We welcome all those who want to help make this an awesome weekend.

Ste-Foy is not near Les Plaines or old Quebec but in Qc, on the weekends, traffic is not that bad... Some will have cars and there is always UBER or taxis
