Hotel Options:
Most hotels from mainstream chains (Marriott/Starwood, Hilton, Fairmont) are located in or close to the Old Quebec neighbourhood which is about 7-8 km from the venue. ALT and Plaza Québec on the list below are the two hotels closest to the pre-dinner event and dinner and are within walking distance.

Marriott:
The Courtyard Quebec City is further out of the Old city while the other 2 are well located. The Marriott Downtown is in a great location to walk around the Old city, so is the Delta but the Delta has less charm.

Starwood:
PUR - Located in St-Roch neighbourhood, a vibrant area of the city.

The FourPoints Sheraton is in Levis, across the St-Lawrence river, which would mean quite a ride from the venue (about 20 km). Not recommended because of location/distance.

Hilton:
The Hilton is well located, close to the Old city. Older hotel but may have been refurbished not too long ago.

The Hampton Inn is also in Levis across the river. Not recommended because of location

Fairmont:
Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is located in the heart of Old Quebec.

Boutique or other hotels (part of smaller chains):
ALT https://www.althotels.com/en/quebec/
Plaza Québec by Jaro https://www.hotelsjaro.com/plaza-quebec/en/
Palace Royal by Jaro https://www.hotelsjaro.com/palace-royal/en/

There is one right near the venues and a SAQ Depot on the way from YQB. Note the store hours.

You'd have to really tweak the definition of "do" for this to be the first though

You will have to tell us that story, then!

If people are interested in the Montmorency Falls, that can easily be arranged. While we are there, it would also be cool to cross the bridge to Île d'Orléans to visit Ste-Petronille Vineyard, they have a great terrace facing the falls.

Taken from the cable car.

And just a taste of the old town:

As seen from the Citadel. Panorama automatically created by google photos.

Now I really want to get there, especially if 24Left brings baking. If I can make it I'll bring some goodies too.

LOL. I think the expectation is for me to bake in YQB, so everything is fresh and doesn't have to be transported. Join us, bring your wife. We can have a baking pre-do, lol. P.S. I'm heading to YQB the day before, on the Friday.

Je serai de la partie!

I have a slight preference for the October date due to potential work trips in September, but I'm looking forward to a FT DO in Québec!

It would be pretty easy to put something together to visit Montmorency Falls and Île d'Orléans for those interested.

Mid-morning on the day of the Do, we could drive to the Falls. It is pretty cheap, juste une couple de piastres par personne. Cable car is about $15 pp I believe. After we have spent a few hours there, we hop back in the car and drive across the bridge to the Île d'Orléans:

Here is the bridge; you can see the fall on the right hand side.

Then, I can book us a guided tour of the Vignoble Ste-Pétronille and wine tasting session, which should be about $20 pp.

Here is the vineyard with the bridge and falls in the backdrop.

And the winery and terrace.

They also have a food truck on site for lunch.

Food truck

Lobster Roll

And a pretty mean burger

I'm happy to be the reasonnable designated driver but depending on how many people attend, we might need a few more cars, which should not be difficult if we have a few local people attending.
gabdusch and DNAwizard like this.

Wow, do you do tourism marketing or what? I'm itching to burn a couple FP credits right now, DO notwithstanding.

I'm in for whatever month you guys pick. But I plan on doing our first "pairs eyw" overnight again... No hotel required

According to the coverage map published on Uber’s website, the falls appear to be accessible but not the winery...
