How many Aeroplan miles per flight?

Ok I've looked at AC's site for awhile now and it's just a confusing mess Does anyone know how many miles you get for flying with AC and with a partner like United? Is it all just based on dollar now (e.g., $1 of ticket = 1 point) instead of the old system based on distance?

Not perfect (does not take status into account) but I always use this to get an idea.

I'm not defending AC here, but it's not that much of a mess. If you look here for United:

https://www.aeroplan.com/earn_miles/...Partner=United

Under Eligible Flights you can use your booking class to see what percent of miles you get. It works the same with Air Canada.

I generally use gcmap.com to get the aprox. distance - some people here probably have a more accurate table.

Problem with that is the the booking code may not translate into same one on another airline.

This is when you book with Air Canada right? If I book directly with United then the booking code is the same ... at least for me it has been this way.

I will confess that I usually book P, D, Z - so I have a small subset of booking codes.

Hm, my ticket doesn't have a booking code maybe cause I booked through AmexTravel. I had booked some last minute one-way economy tickets for $1900 x 2 US Dollar each from London Heathrow to Toronto YYZ and ended up with these points. Do they look right?

Air Canada 849 London Heathrow (GB) - Toronto Pearson (ON) 887
Air Canada 849 London Heathrow (GB) - Toronto Pearson (ON) 3,546

3,546 is the LHR-YYZ mileage, did it a lot! 887 is a 25% cabin/fare bonus. Looks right to me.

Thanks. And that's right for the 2 tickets combined right? I think that's what I'm confused with as to whether I was only credited for one ticket but not the other.

The person flying on the other ticket would get the miles, not you.

Thanks. Looks like I'll need to request some credit for her retroactively then.

Did she have her AP number on the booking?

More importantly, did she have an Aeroplan account at the time of travel? If not, it might be worthwhile to look at crediting elsewhere like MP (IIRC they allow retro crediting for flights prior to enrollment, but AP doesn't).

AFAIK yes it is 6 months, but unless there has been a recent change Aeroplan won’t retroactively credit for miles earned pre-enrollement, even if within past 6 months.
