I don't see anything out of the ordinary today (June 5th) and the past week.

I edited my post to show AC Flight Status page says it is inflight
However, there are 2 sources showing WYN.

Perhaps someone here on FT, with more accurate info than these sources, can answer your request

I think we can safely say with accuracy that the flight is certainly not going to WYN.
Although, Australians are experienced at searching for 777s that run out of fuel over adjacent oceans.

@YUL_Around_The_World

There she is

No Australian stop-over in sight

P.S. In 1.5 hours, cabin lights will be on and pre-arrival meal will be served

If only they were as experienced at finding them...

What's odd is that EF is showing this WYN diversion in the headline "Flight Status" box even though there's nothing about the WYN diversion in the comments. I don't recall seeing a disconnect between those two before.

Either way, this is clearly just one of those weird instances where the electronic signals get mixed up and various flight tracking services get incorrect data. It happens from time to time. My wife once was confused about a YYC-NRT flight I was on diverting to "MELON", which is what had showed up on FlightAware for a while, even though everything proceeded quite normally the entire way to NRT.

I think fr24 (forgot which site?) states a disclaimer that often a slight diversion (e.g. due to weather) of the aircraft from the original flight plan may cause a "Diversion" notification despite not necessarily being the case.

By "slight diversion", do you meant "slight change in flight path"?

Yes, sorry - being FOTSG, I'm not an expert at these terms, so it looks like you understood the gist of what I was saying.

I guess I could have used the word "slight deviation". But whatever.

That's okay, around here we're used to having to try to interpret people who don't really know what they're talking about

Touché.

But yes, I recall seeing that disclaimer recently, I believe on f424.

I hadn't noticed that. Odd that it would show up on EF though, no? I thought it pulled info straight from airlines.
