I received this email today. Is it real or a scam?

It's from Air Canada <[email protected]>

Looks like a scam. Look at the last 2 lines, above the big red text box at the bottom...

And an Air Canada survey that "Qantas" is conducting?

Good catch.

It sounded too good to be true, which is usually the case.

Any time Air Canada is offering me cash is a scam

Now, 10% off your next base fare ... that would be normal.

Total scam, the terrible grammar and punctuation is a dead giveaway.

You should also remove the image since your email address is easily readable.

Air Canada bonuses would be miles, not points.

Curious - what made you think this was legit?

I've been logging to ac quite a bit lately and I do receive legit survey requests.

I was pretty sure it was fake but the graphics and the email address are better than a lot of scams.

IMHO, this stuff will never go away and many people fall for it. Not everyone has the skill set to know it's a scam and others don't have the time or patience to look at the details, which can sometimes be clues like poor grammar or spelling, wording that is not typical of communications from AC (yes, yes, I see you doing :roll eyes: ), and my personal favourite: Free anything from AC, or anyone else. Also, few people know how to look at the details from the header/footer/source and so on, so it's easy to assume an email with the return address [email protected] is legit.

So, just a reminder from the AC website:

Well, that's either sad or funny.

Paging Air Canada......or perhaps one of AC FT's more "talented" members......

Obvious scam, one looks gives it away. The fonts, alignment, image resolution.

Reply-To and From e-mails are arbitrary text values one can set to literally anything, the fact they actually put in an aircanada address is impressive, I see a lot of phishing mails that don't modify the from address - people still fall for them. It's sad.
