Confirmed that it's miserable here in YYC this morning. So far the airport seems to be functioning not too badly, but the snow is supposed to keep piling up through the day, so it will likely get worse and worse.

Good time to be off to BOG!

Enjoy BOG (I call it the city of car alarms)--glad I am not flying until tomorrow when everything "clears up". Off to much less warm climes and maybe extended snow--Grande Prairie and High Level!

Flying home tomorrow also. Via YYZ. Are things really clearing up for tomorrow? So far no warning.

What exactly is happening here?

AC722
YYZ -> LGA
Depart: 18:15 (on time)
Arrive: 21:44 (delayed)
3 hours and 29 minutes!!! (versus 1 hour 35 minutes normally)

Are they really going to pack us all into the plane and circle around for 2 extra hours?

Except the flight is for tonight. They don't adjust arrival times like that in advance.

Proactively managing their OTP?

You likely have a specific wheels-up time around 20:10 that's provided by ATC.

Two years ago, I sat at the gate for almost 2 hours at YUL. We were waiting to be cleared for de-icing bay spray.
Not sure about the advance notice of delay. Inbound aircraft?

I believe things are already lightening up on the snow front. Should taper to nothing by tomorrow (I hope) except where I am going up north.

my record was 4 hour wait time at the gate. My friend did over 6 once, then the flight was cancelled. That was circa 2008 I believe.

That's nothing. My record was 12 hours on the airport terminal's cold linoleum floor. I'm sure my record is nothing compared to others! And yes, this was with AC.
