App won't check me in on connecting flight?
 
I'm flying Avianca as an AC codeshare to Sao Paulo and then AC metal to Toronto and then to Ottawa. I checked into the first flight a couple days ago on their app, and when I did the same on the AC app for the second and third flights, it only let me check into GRU-YYZ, not YYZ-YOW. I get that eupgrades, etc can't be seen until 24 hours out, but I've never not been able to be checked into later connections on the same ticket. Am I special?

Sometimes, for some obscure reason, you will not be able to check-in until T-24 of the LAST segment of your itinerary.
