New VP of AC operations
No announcement. But it appears Eddy Doyle has been replaced as VP Operations by one Marray Strom. Doyle had been appointed as recently as 2016.
There is however a press release about Robert Alan Read being appointed Vice-President, Airports, for North America...

Is this not the VP that all the chief pilots reports to. If so I would expect it to be a regulatory compliance type role.

I've never been removed from a position publicly, but a promotion was announced via mass email before direct management had made a move

No trace of Ed Doyle to be found anywhere. Except, he sold for about 50k worth of AC shares early March. Also, there might have been a piece of news (expired) saying that he was fired.
That his name disappeared and then reappeared for a while on aircanada.com might mean something actually. Firing might have already occurred but not publically announced?

Command responsibility is a real thing. But I can't see an executive taking personal responsibility for this, at least not without the remaining executives generating publicity of throwing them under the bus.
