Compliment to AC for outstanding service in taking care of child with special needs
Compliment:
Daughter of a friend did a transborder flight this week. Three children,1 special needs. Apparently AC provided amazing service, when they were outbound from YYZ. Escorted them from special services to the gate, supported them thru US customs and security. No waiting anywhere.
Child has a very specialized wheelchair weighing in excess of 400 lbs. Allowed child to use it right to the door of the plane and had it ready at the door when they disembarked.
AC also made provision for all the essential medical equipment (significant amount of hand luggage in excess of normal allotment) to be carried onboard. Parents could not stop singing the praises of AC.
i hope I never need this kind of support, but so good to know it was available and worked as one might hope.

It's not really a one-off. On Feb 28, at the YEG 49 gates, I saw a similar situation. There was a young lady (17) who was unable to hear and was also experiencing some other difficulties. I watched as the gate agent attempted to communicate with her by writing notes on paper. She was walked onto the plane, and there were difficulties on the plane, so she was brought back to the gate. A concierge took over and ensured that she was taken care of. When the plane was ready, the Concierge walked her to the plane. It was touching, for me, to see the gate agent try so hard to keep her advised on what was going on by writing notes. I am not sure that it is appropriate to list names here, but the Concierge and the Gate Agent know who they are.

Agree, that’s why I shared it. Especially meaningful to me because I know this family. Could make or break their vacation. Fortunaly, all worked really well and the flight even arrived early.
The first time they flew with the child it was through the Make-a-Wish Foundation to Disneyland. Everything was taken care of for them with many lessons learned. They did this one on their own with AC’s help.

I've traveled numerous times with my special-needs son (wheelchair, can use a walker for short distances) and I agree it's not a one-off - AC has been excellent every time (although the walker got a bit mangled once, which was a bit upsetting).
