014 Ticket with AI flight only?

Hi,
I’m looking to earn AQD on a one way AI flight. Would the AC reservations line be able to book this for me on a 014 ticket? There is no AC codeshare on the flight and there would be no other flights on the ticket.
Thanks

I don't think AC will ticket an itinerary when there are no AC flights included.

Edited to update: AC has restrictions on when they will ticket another airline's itinerary. IATA also governs some of these restrictions.

The only way you'll know is if you call AC. You should also check the fare rules of the AI flight as they may determine who can/can not ticket that fare.

Well they will to the US. YYZ ORD for example has a UA only once a day.

Are there any AI flights out of Canada though? I thought they all went out of the US airports.

Having AC ticket ACXXXX operated UA is different than ticketing UAXXX with no AC flights though.

OP may be able to do it if he goes through a TA, if the AI fare allows plating on other Airlines, and I think AC has a plating fee.

I have regularly purchased 016 tickets on UA.com with no flights operated by UA.

I cannot recall if I've done it with no flights marketed by UA though.

Yeah, buying 016 with UAXXXX operated AC is very common.

I'd be very surprised to see 016 with only ACXXX operated AC flights.

Edit: Reward tickets don't count.

Been there; done that; didn't even have to play any tricks to get ua.com to offer it

Was this for one of those intra Canada flights booked on AC?

Or was it an SFOYYZ?
