Just upgraded my upcoming YYZ-PEK flight to PE for $450 because I need to rest well on that flight. Will see how my second PE experience will go.

Yeah beyond the seat size and comfort I didn't see that much value added. Air Canada's boring IFE selection was the same as Economy and while the meals were better than Economy, the meals alone would not be a worthy reason to upgrade.

With the sleeping part, I think with AC PE, the angle of recline is "just enough" to make it feel like you're not upright sitting in the Emergency Department waiting room at 03:45 in the morning.

I agree with nomad, it really wouldn’t take that much to improve it by bringing back the curtain, and the for the love of providing a decent second meal. Not withstanding the Monty lovers
Dedicated service and the like I don’t see happening. But the above two surely wouldn’t break the bank for something that is very often hundreds more than Flex and two or three times the price of Standard now.

I did a search on FT and on the Goog for a generic thread for Air Canada Premium Economy.
There isn't one. Most threads are about seats, prices, upgrade ability or PE as relates to Aeroplan.
So I'm posting this here and the Mod can move as he sees fit.
For those of us who buy PE for TPACs for example, and for those of us who have been buying and flying it since the launch of the B788s in 2014, we know what we've paid, we know where some routes have interesting pricing and of course, on routes we fly often in any cabin or on any fare class, we tend to know the range of pricing for seats on those routes.
I noticed this on AC's front page today.
I found this interesting but also to be expected. Still, just sharing.

This is my biggest beef with AC re: PE: the elimination of the curtain. I have low expectation about food, IFE, etc., really just buy for the extra legroom and wider seat, but hate that they got rid of the curtain. I also hate that their marketing continues to include the curtain in its photos, despite it being gone for a long time.

I am willing to pay extra for PE for the extra room and 125% miles, but paying 2 x economy or more is just not in my game plan.

Good to know Australia travellers continue to pay a premium
and yes, what @jc94 said
Honestly, just copy ANZ. You do not need more staff (well, that would be nice) but a real second meal, some better snacks in between and you have pretty decent PE product

Those "deal" prices are indeed ridiculous. That's why I'm flying PE to Beijing first and then connecting economy to Japan for the short hop.

In my case last month it was curtains, with an s.
The FAs decided that there would be no curtains for the galley area either so it was Grand Central Station with the galley, washrooms and FA gathering spot. Not relaxing at all. Without any curtains also invites other pax to see the bigger seats and decide to take them when no one is looking as well.

IIRC there used to be a dedicated PY FA, right? And now it's one Y FA where once they are done with the round of service in PY, it's off to the Y cabin...?
And then there is the lav thing too

As far as paying more, I shall put it this way, on rouge flights anyway, more than content to pay a bit more for PY for a flight lasting 6 or 7 hours. Not so sure about mainline AC however.

I sampled DUB/YYZ in PY, in an A330 aircraft 5 months ago. A bit disappointed, the comments above relate. Travelled back home, YYZ/EDI PY, on a rouge B767-300. I found this much better! - curtain, dedicated wash-rooms and FA, and at least for the first meal service the use of real crockery and glassware.

Also as you know, this was discussed in a number of other threads. There was a recent post by @expert7700 re the UK premium tax and if/whether it is related to removal of the curtains, which of course doesn't solve the issue of a LESS premium Premium Economy.

Except there’s still a massive premium for flying out of the UK in AC PY vs Y. If they intended to save pax money, they failed. Maybe it’s like Rouge and only saves AC $ somehow though.
APD doubles from $132 to $264 and carrier surcharges whatever they are increase from $415 to $445.
The actual cost differential between Flex and PY was only $238 more on the date picked. But the actual cost differential paid is $400.
