FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: jc94
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition and 2017 edition

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. More Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs should be posted elsewhere on FT as should topics better suited to other forums such as Travel Products for questions about luggage or Travel Photography for discussion about cameras.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

Didn’t cow get hit by an Uber too? Or involved in some sort of accident ...

Only issue I’ve had with an Uber was a deaf driver. Rather hard to give directions when the guy can’t hear you.

Though I do wonder how easy it’ll be to get another if they get pulled over doing 130kph down the 401.

At least it wasn't a blind driver.

I’m sure he’ll report in. It was posted on FT at the time, possibly in last years forum thread, hence me mentioning it.

I’ve never had a blind Uber driver. There are many drivers on the 401 who appear to be blind though.

I find my QC 25s actually make screaming sound louder since I still hear it, but against a quieter background.

My Bose got a real workout when approx half the PY cabin was under the age of 5. Bose and NC headphones are great for cancelling out aircraft drone and noisy neighbours except when the bass is ridiculously high. It even cancels out someone typing in anger next to me and standard speech.

They do not cancel out screaming humans of any age. I guess on an aircraft that’s a useful safety feature.

I have no August long weekend plans if Jack was to organize something I’m only booked up Canada Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The screaming sound gets lower, but the noise gets even lower, so overall the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) gets higher.

I think maybe as well, but I'd still like to see a sweep... although having GS win at home would be nice to see.

I found watching Parts (not always) Unknown to be cathartic. RIP, AB.
