FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: jc94
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition and 2017 edition

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. More Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs should be posted elsewhere on FT as should topics better suited to other forums such as Travel Products for questions about luggage or Travel Photography for discussion about cameras.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

Guess its time to start cheering for Germany!

Brilliant apology though ... KFC's apology for running out of chicken is pretty cheeky - BBC News

Just taking a temperature here, nothing set in stone yet.
Anyone interested in a mini-do in YVR on a Saturday early March? (Thinking March 3 or 10)

Jet leg from being in MAD/LHR this week, so I'm up and watching the bronze medal hockey game. So far these guys seem up for it, which is good.

So I missed the Olympics being mostly offline in Patagonia.

We lost both hockey AND curling? Should I even bother coming home?

Yes, but still have had a record medal haul so guess we just owned different podiums this time around.

Might be interested in the 10th, but is there anything to do in Vancouver ..... ?

Company cow orkers in the kirkland office was telling me how grrrrreat Seattle is and I found it a very underwhelming town (just having tall buildings does not make you a city ...)

RangerNS and I are discussing a “do” (do you need quotes??) for YHZ around the end of April. Early plans involve alcohol and throwing axes (at targets on a wall!). What coud go wrong???

Feel free to bring your favorite picture or corporate logo to use as a target.

Since this forum seems to over index with IT folks....does anyone have any suggestions or know if your firms are hiring for a one year PEY (coop) in the GTA. My third year computer science geek kid at UofT is looking for something in software development this summer/fall. He does have a few interviews but hoping to broaden his perspective/options. PM please so we do not clog up everyone else's time reading. Thanks in advance.

Axe throwing/ destruction makes me think of the Office Space printer scene.

If I ever can get a Vegas "do" setup, this could be an interesting excursion. We'd have to call to make sure there is no breathalizer test needed for admission

No need to go to Vegas!

TimberLoungeHFX - Timber Lounge - Halifax's Premier Axe Throwing Facility

Although, to be fair, I did grow up in a suburb of YHZ known as Sack-Vegas!
