From post #49 in this thread, here's one potential way to (re)inflate an AC seat:
  • Go the home screen "Your Seat". (find this on the seat side panel; not the main video screen)
  • Hold the top left hand corner "Air Canada" (with AC logo) for 3 seconds. Updated (Apr 9 18): may need to hold for as long as 45 seconds for key pad to appear
  • Dial pad shows up - hit 3-2-1.
  • Press "Reset Lumbar Support"
Note that this method has not met 100% success so YMMV.
A better method is for a crew member to use the reset switch under the seat, on the aisle side.

Compensation offers (green/white sheet completed)
40K AE- Apr 18 (50% back of the J class one way redemption)
2018 Jun - $500 coupon
2018 Sep $1,000 eCoupon or 40K AP (P fare TPAC)
2018 Sep $150 eCoupon (P fare TPAC) (no change on protest)

Compensation offers (no green/white sheet completed)
100K - May 5 (C$150 eCoupon; was moved to a functioning seat after meal service)
2017 Sept - 8,000 AE miles - reported via complaint web page after realizing it was a faulty seat, not standard discomfort; Asked for return of eUps but they declined.
2017 Nov & 2018 Feb - $500 coupons both times (second time on protest that $500 had been offered the previous time)
2018 Sep. $250 coupon (on a paid J TATL).
2018 Nov - $500 eCoupon (J TATL)

Have a Service Director (SD) That Is Giving You the Case of the Shrugs? Like the real life version of this ASCII emoji -> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?

No success with the SD and/or crew rectifying your deflated seat and you can't be/aren't accommodated to another J seat? If you asked for a compensation form and the SD says they have no idea what you are talking about, you can use the below picture of the stub portion to help freshen their memory (better than nothing)...

Please note that for the longest time, the "Green Compensation Form" version was used, and there have been recent reports of the "White Compensation Form" replacing the Green version. Reports here have indicated that the two forms are virtually identical except for the colour.

Here is a snapshot of the full form, courtesy of canadiancow

The left section and the tear-off piece were filled out entirely by the SD.

My name was filled out by the SD.

I filled out my address, email, status, Aeroplan number, phone, and chose which type of compensation I wanted.

The main part of the form goes back to the SD, and the passenger keeps the little piece on the right side.

I couldn’t see straight let alone think clearly. So now penalized for ‘typos’.

I’d inform them that the typo was due to a lack of sleep due to being on a metal slab similar to a morgue.

Of course since this hasn’t happened to me so far, now that I post here I’m sure in my very next flight I will get deflated… Ha, Ha

would it not just be cheaper for AirCanada order a bunch of these to keep on board and give passengers some exercise if the beds go flat🙃

who needs to spend a whole bunch of money on an airplane seats and get some sleep - instead install a gym with some sunlight projectors so folks can get some exercise and adjust their time zone before arrival… Just a thought

Uh, I might be stupid. I'm on a 789, and for the life of me can't find the "Your Seat" option on the screen. Is it nested somewhere?

Updated: NVM. Found it. Its not on the main screen, it's on the small side screen.

You may need to ask for the 'Green' form.....even though it is actually white.

Fortunately wasn't my seat so no need for a compensation form.

Nice to see that AC is continuing their stellar job of communicating with their staff about their 'stay flat' seating issue in Signature Class.

Sheesh.

I think the wording was along the lines of "I am not aware of any new forms onboard".

I think maybe we all need to start carrying an image of the (now) relevant form on our phones.

Or maybe AC will provide a supply of forms to us as part of the next SE package and we can hand them out to the SDs along with instructions.

Me breaking their seat if bad enough, I wouldn't want to put them out trying to figure which form to use.

I actually keep pictures of previous compensation forms on my phone for evidence as the little "receipt" given is only a reference number and has no relevant information about the problem on it; you are at the mercy of the SD submitting that form in order for your claim to be processed.

On my last deflate got a Canada customs form (when landing in MUC) when asked for the white form . Obviously SD was as tired as me ....

It's not a new form. It's the same one they've for years. It's the same one used when they don't load your SPML, or when they dump the PDB tray on you, or when your seat won't recline.

Sure, but we have been receiving green ones to fill out for the longest time, and now there are reports of white forms.
Was it just the the colour that changed, and both green and white forms are identical in content and format?
