Thanks.

Although I can eventually brute force that URL to give me data that matches what your tool is sending me (data which, BTW, is consistent with what expertflyer is saying) .... anytime I try to save a version of the URL to bit.ly to make it easy to convey to AC, the resulting URL seems to fail, redirect, and not provide any real data.

Frustrating.

Ah ha! This is better. Entering the flight data into the official schedule page: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...schedules.html

Shows the revised (and, I believe, correct) flight schedule.

OK, that's hopeful. I'll call AC tomorrow and try to walk them through it.

I just spoke to AC. Found a super helpful agent

The fact that I was able to point to the two different times on two different parts of AC's website (res vs sched), was key.

She saw the problem, and reached out to the resource desk (? I think). They saw the problem, agreed that there was a glitch, and said they would get it fixed within 24 hours. We'll see but it's a positive start.

Apparently even a super helpful agent and a promise to fix this within 24 hours ... isn't enough to get it fixed. Today is 4 weeks (28 days) since the unofficial tool notified me of my flight's sched change. The AC res system still has the old times, and as a result (and despite multiple requests) AC still won't let me change to a flight that I can actually connect to.

Frustrating.

I just threw the whole thing in the concierge's lap, and we'll see if they can help.

Yes, I'm asking a plumber to rewire my house (is that the right analogy?) but I'm getting tired of re-explaining the entire situation to reservations on the phone, so maybe the concierge will have more success. We'll see.

Score one for the plumbers!

I should have done this a long time ago. The concierge didn't bother trying to fight the res system ... I presume that will get sorted eventually. What they did do was just change my booking to the new flight (without charge), getting me the result that I wanted. The AC systems are still out of sync, and selling tickets to a 777-300ER which leaves at 13:45 (when in fact it will be 321 which leaves at 12:30) ... but that's no longer my problem, I'm on the flight & seat I want.

So also score one for the unofficial sched change tool

I apologize if things are taking longer these days. There are a LOT of people adding EYW flights to TripIt, which is drastically slowing down the daily checks.

Yeah, what's up with the performance of this free but valuable tool, anyway?

Can I get double my money back?

Once again, a change to some Aeroplan flights next year.

And once again, the unofficial tool let me know days before AC/AE did. Thanks Scott!

It's interesting to see how different user experiences can be, even when based on a common back end.

This is not working at the moment. I'm not sure when I'll have the time and energy to take a look, but hopefully soon.

Given the vast sums of money you're making from this service, it's totally understandable.

Free changes, rerouting, potential cancellation.

Below MCT isn't a legal itinerary. If the "best" legal itinerary is really bad (several hours earlier departure or later arrival), you can do whatever you want.

Oh that's interesting. I signed up for it, too - but saw your post about it not working at the moment. Can't wait to try it out!

By the way, and I am prepared to be yelled at, but just to confirm, if the inbound flight (which is scheduled to be a week after the outbound flight) now has a below MCT connection, that doesn't mean I could request the outbound flight to be changed or rerouted, does it? My outbound flight has a very long layover....
