Downgrade compensation?
I'm sitting in 2A on a Q400.
I had no idea anything was wrong until I got on board.
1A says she received a phone call.
I can handle downgrades, but I choose seats very carefully (2A on a Q4 does not have aisle access), and I just spent 2 hours in the lounge, starting to get hungry.
This is the boarding pass I used to board.
This was an eUpgrade, so I don't really know what to expect in terms of compensation (I have no use for eUps), but it's definitely the lack of notice that bothers me more than anything else.
It doesn't sound like this was "last minute".

I know AOG is "aircraft on ground" (presumably, "broken").
I'm not sure what it means that the engine starter is SNAG ... the best the internet can suggest is "Sensitive New Age Guy", by which I assume they are referring to cow

Suck it up, it happens all the time. Try to make your connections - this should be your #1 priority. After the adrenaline rush, settle down and write in demanding compensation. Sit tight and wait for your 10-15% off code.

I am pretty sure he will get his eUpgrade refund, might take a few days, but it will. During my EYW trip in Sep when the 5:xx am YYT to YYZ first got change from E190 to 767 (so happy ) and then they cancel it (so sad ), so I had them rerouted me via YHZ. J for YHZ to YYZ was full and I didn't want to take a later flight, and I, as P25K is like 7th on the waitlist, so, I didn't put in a request to eUpgrade. But the credits for my original YYT-YYZ never gave back to me until about 4 days later, automatically though.

Snag is not an acronym; it's a word. It's the Canadian term (probably British origin) with the same meaning as "squawk" as used in the US.

I feel like if FOTSG like yyzyesmad would complain every time something like this happens everyone could get AC discounts by PMing him for an entire year of bookings.
Out of curiosity, Cow, do you know who was actually booked in paid J on that flight? (Non eUps, non reward bookings.)
I guess a downgrade is always better than a misconnect, but I am curious to know if they'd also base the decision on how the J cabin is monetized.

What would they refund me? The itinerary, without that segments, was the same number of eUps.
I'm more annoyed that there was just no notice.
Like literally I walked on the plane and said "wait what???" and the FA came over.
I have no idea who else was in J.
1A certainly was.
