Question about star alliance upgrade...

So I booked a flight through Eva Air on a Y/B fare ticket.

I was upgrading the flight and it only costs 15-20K per segment (NA-SEA vice versa) in Aeroplan. Is the upgrade from economy to business class or economy to premium economy? The upgrade says Economy to business but I'm afraid it will only upgrade me to premium economy since there is a PE cabin on the flight.

Sorry for dumb question

Aeroplan currently only offers upgrades from economy to business class (and business to First class on select partner airlines).

Confused. Does BR fly/have rights between other North American cities and SEA?

Long haul, upgrades should require either 25k miles or 30k. I remember each of these figures corresponding to two legs, one YVR-TPE and one TPE-CDG, but I am not sure which was which.

But 25-20 for a North American leg is not little so why "only" 15-20 k miles? After all a one way NA reward is 25k...

The one and only time I did a *A upgrade (Y into J on BR) was YVR-TPE return and it was 50K in aeropesos, 25K each way.

Yup YYZ-TPE.

I stand corrected it is 25K for the upgrade ans 15k from TPE to other SEA.

So it's definitely an upgrade to business instead of PE right? I never did upgrades except now. I always just bought award tickets.

I'm guessing you mean 15k from TPE to other SE Asia. SEA is Seattle

It would be helpful to keep all questions and experiences related to Star Alliance Upgrades in a single thread. Easier to search ...instead of starting a new one each time.

These are other threads and their start dates:
