Actually the Domonimonte red is very good. Why can’t they have similar wines on board?

There is indeed also a domodimonte on board. But not the same and nowhere near as good. The one in the lounge is a 2011 pure petit verdot, their top wine. Probly the top Marche wine.

The Signature Suite burger is significantly better than the Hawksworth restaurant burger.

Be sure to have a great meal in the dining room as the food is outstanding (was anyway when we were there in December) in complete contrast to the Signature Service Hawksworth meals on board (all 3 sectors 2 transcons and i to GRU) which were dire and I do not exaggerate.

No disputes here, nor thoughts of exaggeration; it's not unreasonable to expect a large lounge with a commercial kitchen and professional chefs can produce finer plates than some porta-meals mass-produced in a warehouse, shrink-wrapped, chilled, trucked, loaded and eventually reheated in an airborne microwave. Airlines do the best they can to serve edible food under challenging conditions, but they simply can't compare to ground-based venues.

I have an upcoming flight in paid J, FCO-YYZ-SFO - Air Canada's app is showing that I will have access to the Signature Suite, but per their terms, that doesn't seem to be the case. Any insight? Worth trying anyway or no?

Agreed so AC should pick menu items that will hold up to onboard catering. They certainly seemed to be able to do that on the last couple of international flights in PE! So much better than the J meals I was served. I think D.Hawksworth would be embarrassed and I'll tell him that when I see him next in his restaurant in Vancouver. Rant over. (til the next time...)

You won't have physical access to even attempt entry.

@kthpence

The app has errors and even those on international tickets to Asia etc, that depart YYZ but connect in YVR do not have access, partly for logistical reasons.

The YYZ international, domestic and trans-border (TB) departure areas are separate. When you arrive from FCO, you will not have access and you will be going through U.S. Connections where you will have access to AC's TB Maple Leaf Lounge (MLL).

Hi all - don't suppose there's been any change in the access rules? Wife and I are flying in J through YYZ on AC to Europe. I am in paid J and her on Aeroplan biz reward, same flights. I am fully expecting answer to be I am allowed in but she is not, but wondered if any different experiences.

Wife is encouraging me to go in alone and hang out by myself and enjoy it for a bit but I don't think that's wise on my part LOL. Jokes aside it wouldn't be half as fun without her anyway.

Same scenario happened to us not long ago. My wife truly insisted I should not miss the dinner in the lounge, and she was obviously sincere. So I ended up going and she was graceful about it. That occasionally when she wqould be on a reward and I upgrading, she would end up in front while I was in the back on connection on other airlines admittedly may have been a consideration.
