Surely the new St.Regis will have been Made Great Again and gotten rid of all the Trumpiness by Do time.

Actually, that's not impossible. It's been a long time since I've done this but renting a movie theatre from Cineplex used to cost about $1500 + HST. For this, you get the entire theatre and they'll show you any movie that's currently playing at any Cineplex in Canada.

I don't know how much it is to rent a VIP theatre (such as the one at Yonge & Dundas) but I can't imagine it would be more than $1500. So with 30 people paying $50 each you get a "private" screening of Star Wars or any other movie that's playing.

Or, how about just a regular DO without lame gimmicks at a regular non-wallet-gouging restaurant (hotel is immaterial as hotels have both good and crappy restaurants)?

I go to DOs to talk shop with you guys, not to wear my Darth Vader costume, complete with Jedi jock strap.
RoutingWonk and vernonc like this.

My exam schedule just got posted.
I finished on the 15th, and plan is to visit SFO (If I can find enough valley peeps to have coffee with) or LAX for two days before flying back on Sunday the 17th.
So I would really prefer if the date is after 17th.

Closest casino is Woodbine. After attending the Andy Kim concert there (q.v.) my thoughts were more towards a decontamination facility than a DO. Next closest is Mohawk, at Guelph Line and the 401 - 20 mins drive for me but what about The Rest of Canada?

Table games only count as a real DO

You don't want to do a hotel because of overpriced mediocre food and then suggest the MLL?

I liked the library bar at the Royal York a few back, and the Jersey Giant was good too.

If we're going to gamble then I'd rather find a room somewhere to play hold 'em and lose my money to the group than a casino.

What's a suite with a boardroom table cost in downtown Toronto?

This is the only group where we could play that the winner gets to charge the room to their credit card and everyone else pays cash

With the hotel status this group has? I suspect it would be around $100-$200 for the night

Admittedly, 600-1200 Starpoints is low stakes.
