24left's tastebuds can only test what is offered. And a few years worth of photos shows that most cakes are chocolate of some sort, but that carrot cake form 2015 and the AC 8 passion-fruit-white-chocolate cheesecake were the winners.

The chocolate torte-cake is the cake I refer too as been around now for 2 years straight on every outbound flight I've been on and the only thing that changed was the fruit compote.

You had me at passion-fruit-white-chocolate cheesecake

Seriously? Everyone knows what lava cakes look like and more importantly, if done properly, they are awesome. That was one of the best desserts because it was neat, simple and so chocolatey.

I'll dig through my photos and see if I can find any cake pics as well.

I'm reading all the captions in Samuel L Jackson's voice with his embellishments.
LOL, it would be great to see more AC Cake...on a plane phones!

Air Canada outbound desserts - 2015-17

While my picture collection is quite modest compared to our resident inflight documentation expert, I'm posting this to highlight the non-variety of desserts ex-Canada since 2015.

It's been almost two years since that cake was introduced. I like chocolate as much as the next guy, but c'mon AC, if you can manage a new entree and appetizer every quarter, is it too much to ask for a new dessert every year?

As mentioned before, TPAC flights have the full-size cake cut into triangles:

While TATL and South America flights (in my limited experience) have the smaller pre-cut square cake.

Air Canada inbound desserts - 2015-17

Quite a bit more variety on inbound AC flights to Canada.

AC008 HKG-YVR, March 2015
Red Wine Pear and Pistachio Tart (per the menu). Same dessert as posted by 24L upthread. I personally quite enjoyed it - a nice change from the usual suspects.

AC026 PVG-YVR, May 2015
Some type of peach crumble.

AC871 CDG-YUL, February 2017
Caramel and Passion-Fruit Tart. This was excellent, and I think I've seen this dessert served in AF F on a trip report ex-CDG ^

AC871 CDG-YUL, January 2015
Great catering from CDG again, this time with a Paris-Brest. I still remember the taste of that dessert over 2 years ago. It was that good.

AC875 FRA-YUL, April 2016
Typical, boring 3-flavor ice cream TATL dessert. At least this one was properly thawed...see next pic.

AC093 SCL-YYZ, January 2016
You just gotta love the titanium-like hardness of that ice cream. After trying to dig some pieces out, I gave up and had to wait a good 30 minutes for it to thaw. Sadly, this seems like a common occurence with this dessert...

So I'm having a hard time finding pics of my AC J cakes. Something something lap infant.

Aug 2017 - AC845 FRA-YYC

I've always found the cake on Air Canada to be really dry. It's hardly fluffy, and before someone blames the whole 37,000 feet argument, other airlines do this a lot better.

Asl for brandy/cognac and pour a bit on the cake.

I am at the opposite end of the spectrum. Alcohol, yes, in moderation. Cake, no.

Although no pictures, my vote for cake of the Month goes to BOM.

Butterscotch/Caramel Cream Cheesecake.

If you started taking pictures of all the food on AC, I think 24left would be out of a job.

Grand Marnier is another solid option.

Don't think AC will ever get rid of the Hacksworth chocolate cake. Leaves all of the chocolate haters (there's more of us than you think ) stuck with just a cheese plate and fruit.

Not sure if that's a typo or not. But I agree that at this point that chocolate cake is pretty hacksworth
