@yyznomad yes there is no 8A..... I meant the 7A vs 9A from the seat map, 7A is almost the same with 9A.

@rebyang

Correct, which is why I alluded to how the AC seatmaps are not the best, especially when seating is staggered.
As noted above, bulkhead J seats such as 9A/K and row 1 have more footwell space as there are no other seats in front.

@yyznomad thanks! It will be my first time taking AC flight, looking forward to it. I like UA's Polaris Business I took for several times between NRT and EWR

Flying on a 773 in July and snagged 2A when booking. I thought it was a little suspicious that both 2A & 2K were both open, when the next few rows were all taken, so wondering if I have made the right decision - my shoe size is 11 US and im 5'9

I pretty much just want to sleep the whole flight, as it will be my 3rd 5+ hour flight that day:

You’ll be great. The only issue with row 2 is the proximity to the galley which means light may leak through the curtain as people come and go. If that’s a concern, you can skip the window seat and move back a row or two to the center section.

There is no reason to be suspicious. Many possible reasons why those seats were open. If you look at seatmaps for 100 random 772/3 flights over the next month, you will see randomly available window seats.

Also, everyone has preferences... and mine are not to sit near the front of J!

Air Canada 777 type of J seat

Hi,

I am currently planning on booking a seat in J from Copenhagen to Toronto.
Last time I flew it back in 2012, it was the flat seats with the screen you could fold out from the seat in front of you. Believe it was a 1-1-1 layout with angled seats in the cabin.
I have now noticed that they have a new seat. In the 787 there is a new type of seat. Therefore I am wondering if the 777 has the new type of seat, same as in the 787, or if there is a chance I get the same type of seat as I had back in 2012?

Thank you for any answers.

The 777 has updated seats. The previous version with fold out screens have been replaced.

The 777s all have the "dream cabin" layout. The 1-1-1 layout is still seen on the 767 and 333 aircraft, but I don't believe they fly to CPH.

FWIW the 333s do go to CPH in low season. I believe at some point they are going to be refurbished and get the 777/787 seating in J, last estimate I saw was later this year.

Thankfully besides the point if one is booked onto a 777, though, like you mentioned.

Question about seat recline in PY in the 777-200LR. I think this has been discussed somewhere but just can't find it...

I usually choose 12A or 12K when I travel PY. I enjoy the privacy... But in my next AC33/34, I would like to fully stretch my legs and get as much seatback recline as possible. I am tempted to go for row 14, but I remember once that the seatback did not recline fully. Can't remember which metal this was. Can someone confirm how is the recline in row 14 of the 777-20LR? Is there a wall between 14 and the sardin can just behind!?

Thanks, and please direct me to the proper thread if this has already been clearly answered...

I have never thought or felt the recline is less in PE row 14 on the 772, but yes, others here have stated that they've felt "less" of it.
Yes, there is a wall between PE and Y.

Thanks, much appreciated! Let's see if someone else has a more definitive answer about the recline!

Airline review: Air Canada Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, economy class, Melbourne to Vancouver

"The economy cabin has 247 seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Seats offer 30 inches (76cm) of pitch and are 17 inches (43cm) wide, making them among the smallest you will find on an international full-service carrier from Australia."

Not sure this is entirely true, but between the seat and the service, not a good review.

Answering your post from your thread 77L J seats with missing windows

And once again I am caught in the AC 33/34 bind where I can't choose different seats on each leg.

(Mods please move if covered elsewhere).

I have my own notes from 77w's that the missing window (on a 77w) is between rows 5 & 6 .... but I don't seem to have any notes for 77Ls.

@canopus27

24left thread, lol

I scrolled through every cabin and seat photo in my sordid collection.

This was 9K on one AC 15 777-200LR

SUGGESTION: It would be helpful to everyone if any of us saw something different with windows and other cabin features, to take a photo or make a note and post it here. There are enough flyers in the collective to be able to generate a fairly good resource.
canopus27 and cowie like this.
