+1. Also note that the bin above 1A/K are often stuffed with amenity kits, headphones, crews luggage, etc. When I sit at 1A/K and board late I often need to go down to row 3 or 4 to store my laptop bag.

Good idea! I wish AC can create a virtual tour of their cabin so that people can exactly see how rows are aligned, location of O/H bins, which windows are missing, etc.

Finished with my trip from YVR to SYD. and return BNE to YVR.

flight there on a 777-200 LR, ( AC 033) Originally seated in isle seat, row 14, but moved to isle seat in row 13. ( and no one in front of me in row 12 ) Glad I did. Row 14 on the 777-200lr doesn't recline as far as the other rows. ( it does recline a good amount, but is limited by the bulkhead behind it)

The return trip was a 787-8 ( AC 036) Seated in isle of row 14. Plenty of room to fully recline and still room behind.

Is it me or do the J seats on the 789 not go completely flat? The rear end portion meets the footwell but the back portion, once reclined, still has a bit of an angle.

Not just you, I noticed the same thing. For this reason I don’t even use the pillow. Also depends on the seat, the rear portion may not meet the foot rest.

I thought the same at one point. Then I found if I kept pressing the buttom it would actually moce further, all the way to flat.

I meant "button," not "bottom." (For some reason I can no longer edit posts. Something to do with my spam blocking...

As per @Stranger

They do lie flat. Some seats get "stuck" at the head portion but quite often if you do hold the screen button it does lie flat. Sometimes it doesn't.

I thought that most of these seats were slightly higher at the head position, so that your head is parallel with the ground, since the nose of the plane is flying couple of degrees pointed up. If the footwell was the same height as the headspace, then blood would be running to your head for most of the flight

The DC-10 was like that, and I seem to recall it was not really by design. FAs pushing carts uphill... But I never felt the 777 or 787 also.

77L business 8A or 9A

What's the difference between 8A and 9A? I am choosing 9A, it seems that 8A is towards the toilet?

9A has more room for your feet. For average folk probably no big thing. For size 14 shoe me? Godsend.

@rebyang

Regarding what @WaytoomuchEurope said, 9A is actually the bulkhead row of the mini J cabin as the seating is staggered.
There actually isn't a seat 8A or 8K (just 8DG)... so the mini-J bulkhead is 9A8D8G9K. (The AC seatmaps are kind of crappy)

The proximity to the galley lavs isn't much of an issue to me. I like the A/K mini-J bulkhead seats.

But to really answer your question, 9A - 8A = 1A
