Row 1 has significantly more foot room than any other pod.

I'd take a middle in row 1 before any other row.

Careful, the footrest on 1A/K doesn’t extend all the way to the cabin wall. I posted a pic somewhere, but basically your outside foot is unsupported. I’d sit anywhere else...

Best 777 PY Seats?

In PY for 2 upcoming flights, 2 people:

777-300 40J - which seats are recommended? GF likes the window, so basically whats the pros and cons of row 12 A/C vs 13A/C, or even 14A/C

777-200 - same as above, row 12 or row 13 or 14?

Thanks!

Please don't double post.

Either row is fine, it depends on your preference. Row 12 is bulkhead so nobody reclines in your space but you lose some foot space. Row 13 will have a foot rest, row 12 will not. The IFE in row 12 will be located in the armrest and will have to be stowed for taxi, takeoff and landing whereas in row 13 you will be able to use it gate to gate. I have flown several times in either row, I prefer row 13 when I want to sleep and row 12 for daytime flights.

Row 14 can be considered pretty much equivalent to row 13. I actually like it because I can recline without feeling that I am encroaching on another pax's space.

Thanks! Row 14 has full recline on all of them? I know that on a LH340, the last row of PY doesn't recline the as far as the previous 2 rows due to the bulkhead behind it

Yes, full recline in row 14. I recommend sitting on the AC side to get first pick on meal choice as the FA will take orders from this side first.

Flew today. Row 14 does in no way have the same amount of recline as row 13 (and presumably 12). Solid 2-3 inches more for row 13 over 14

Huh. I am surprised as that doesn't match my experience. Maybe some FINs are differently configured somehow.

The PY seats in the 777's have different configurations.

The HD ones (450 seat, 28J) used for CDG & HKG have older PY seats. They also have an arm rest between the middle 2 seats (E & F) that can be raised.

The non-HD ones (40J) have newer PY seats.

I don't know if the recline is different though on the Row 14's.

Bumper Guards on seat frames?

I rarely sit in row 1 in the 777/787 in the new cabins.

I was in 1D on the 789 and the 777 (40J) yesterday and noticed this on the 777. Crew explained they were installed because carts hit the pods. Well, I'm sure it's not on purpose. Anyway, thought I'd post.

P.S. I did not notice this on my pod on the 789, but she was the new baby, fin 857 and so maybe AC hasn't yet installed there.

premium economy on AC boeing 777-200

I have a work flight coming up from Vancouver to Sydney and have been booked in premium economy. My assigned seat is 14H. According to seatguru this "may" have limited recline due to the bulkhead wall directly behind. Does anyone with knowledge of this aircraft know exactly how limited ? Or will I be stuck in a full upright seat for 15 hours ? ( also, for some reason the AC app says " set selection not available for this flight.... perhaps because the travel date is sill a month away )

interestingly, I am booked on the same seat for the return trip, but this time the aircraft is a 787-8
