Just had my first flight on a 777LR with 3x4x3 in the back - thank goodness we reserved the aisle/window hoping the middle stayed empty and it did. Narrow, uncomfortable seats, and my knee is all chafed from rubbing against the seat pocket. We were barely able to handle YYZ-LAX on this thing, and to think people are flying YYZ-HKG and YYZ-HND in these seats voluntarily?

Same question but (Eva Air) Taipei TPE to Bangkok BKK, and also Air Canada San Francisco SFO to Toronto YYZ?
@Adore

I'm replying to your post in this Master Seat Thread

You have not specified all of your flight numbers and the aircraft listed on your itinerary. Without it, we won't know all of your aircraft although a few are obvious.

Since I fly this route often.....
For YYZ-YVR, I assume you will be on AC 101, a B789, or AC 103, a B777.
For AC 17, you will be on a B789

On the Air Canada Fleet page, you can look at the cabin layout of each aircraft

https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...ard/fleet.html

On the B777, there are seats with windows in the main and mini-business cabin.
On the B789, row 5 and row 8 seats only have 1 window, if that matters.

As for preferences, as stated here in this thread and others on this forum, we all have our own.

As for EVA, you should look on their website. They have an excellent page for cabin layout.

77L/77W/788 Row 18 legroom

From my experience, 77L/77W row 18 legroom is decent (plus no seat in front to get in your face). How does the 788 compare?

How does AC handle seat selection costs if subsequently upgraded with co pay?

(Yes, I'm sure this is covered in previous threads and if my ability to successfully search was better, I'd find it, but.....Feel free to criticize that, but please only if an answer is included!)

I've been automatically reimbursed for the cost of the preferred seat if later upgrading using eupgrades or LMU. Normally the reimbursement have been processed within a few days of taking the flight.

There are photos posted in this thread including a side view of the bulkhead row, taken originally by @Lights_a_blur and reposted by me.

Here is the row on the B789 from post #15

We sat in 6D and 6G on AC001 YYZ to HND 77W. The seats were quiet even though near the galley. We did have to lean over and almost yell to talk. I do think window seats infront of each other miigh be better since the middle partition does not come down. I think if the partition ever went down it would be better for couples to sit in the middle seats. Bed was nice. These seats have more counter space to store things.

6G

6D

6G

Lots of space

Looking from 6G to 6D. You can see the middle portion does not go down and not the best for conversation for couples

NB And I agree. Its also a favourite seat of mine - there is more privacy, tempered only if you have a noisy flight crew. You get food early if that's an issue for you, and its real close to the KitKats (if that's still a thing these Covid days)..

I read in the wiki, or somewhere else that AC was remodeling all of their 777 interiors. I’m flying from FRA to YYZ in early October should I be concerned if the equipment is upgraded or not? And if you want to throw in your personal choice of seat that would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance

That was completed years(?) ago.

If you ask about preferred seats, I'm sure you'll get 68 answers.

Here are two of mine: 1A (regardless of which type)

I have a J class flight coming up on a 777. First time in this cabin on AC. Have flown the product on 787s.

currently am seated in the “mini” J section at the back. Is sitting in the first larger section preferable?

It depends on the person's seat/cabin preferences.
What are your seat/cabin preferences?

Am I going crazy?
I read somewhere that "lie flat" seats have a 3o down angle while on the ground in order to compensate for the pitch of the plane during level flight. Not actually sure if this is real though.

Question for anyone who flies in these seats regularly- what's the galley/restroom noise like in 1A/1K? (Specifically on the 777)
