Cathay Pacific codeshare flight on AirNZ, credit on star alliance/aeroplan?
 
Have a Cathay Pacific Booking YVR to AKL via HKG. The HKG to AKL is an AirNZ metal, but booked as a codeshare. I have both BA Avios and Aeroplan. YVR to HKG is Cathay, but does anyone know if I can earn Aeroplan on the AirNZ portion?

In theory, yes. However it would depend what booking class the CX*NZ flight maps to. NZ is very stingy in awarding miles on its lower booking classes to other programmes, with the exception of UA because they have joint venture.

Yes, AE is always dependent on the metal of the operating carrier, so NZ is eligible, but
as the poster above noted you must be in an eligible fare class.
