Accordingly, I don't think you'll find many flyers of Concorde (or A380) who tell you that the aircraft is a failure, though an investor with a shorter term horizon may think so.

Is there any airliner that isn't a failure? I don't know how much is hidden in the accounting whereby losses are carried forward, so I suspect the 737, an ancient plane if ever there was one, is probably a success. But nothing interesting, like Concorde or 747 or A380 is ever a success in pure financial terms.

Of course the Concorde was the worst of them all. But then, that was not really the goal.

When it comes to the -100 and -200, configuration must have changed over the years.
Pretty sure I flew on an AC -100 that had Y upstairs. LHR-YYC mid 90s. Plane went mechanical; they had to fly another one in, and then dropped us at YEG because they needed the plane ASAP.

you made me google this .. i did get the date wrong. it was 2004 (not 2005 or 2003), and it was fall, as in those days i flew to FRA every year in March and October.
"On 31 October 2004, the last Air Canada Boeing 747 flight landed in Toronto from Frankfurt as AC873, ending 33 years of 747 service with the airline."

I liked row 1. First in the nose.
And they would still manage to get you a steak reasonably rare if asked. :-)

I have fond memories of YUL-MIA trips in first class on the 742 in the 80s. So quiet up near the nose and my favourite plane ever. Remember putting the Aeroplan stickers on the paper tickets as well.
