Such that it is actually searchable text - one of the important changes to the Aeroplan program in 2019 for Super Elites:

New for Air Canada Altitude Super Elite 100K members: Complimentary changes and refunds
Beginning July 15, 2019, Air Canada Super Elite 100K members will no longer be charged a fee when they request a change to their Flight Reward booking. Additionally, these members will also no longer be charged a fee to refund their bookings. These fee waivers will apply to all bookings, including those made prior to the new policy coming into effect.

Wow, good job, keep spending.
I have nowhere near that many, but I love helping out kids sports teams, so perhaps you can assist them in their travel plans for a tournament?
Short haul round trip is what, 15k? X12 kids is 180k, throw in 2 coaches that's 210k... OK, might need to do it a few times.

How does that work if there's only 2 or 3 seats on typical plane allocated to AP inventory? Does AC have some sort of program to facilitate this (and create availability)?

Do that. Just call them and ask them to open more. Actually, demand it!

My points are paltry compared to most of you road warriors. I'm keeping my major points in Amex MR right now, waiting to see what will happen. I see that I could transfer points to Delta Skymiles or to BA, so I'll wait and see how I like to use them--I already have a Skymiles affiliation, as well as AAdvantage.

Meanwhile I'll burn my miles on medium-haul within N.A., and hope to be rid of them when the change drops.

Right now I am finding it increasingly difficult to find Fixed Mileage rewards that are non-stop, and with flexible dates--sorry, but if I want to fly YYZ-LAX, it's going to be non-stop! So I recently decided to burn a bunch of miles with a Market Fare Reward YYZ-TPA, no direct flights with Fixed. Luckily it was a single Economy seat, god knows what they'd charge for Biz in Market. Normally I wouldn't want to burn those extra miles, but now, what the hell?

Don't look now, but last time I checked, Aimia's shares were trading at $4.30, which is nearly triple where they were at their nadir in June. Granted it's still a long way off from the $9.00 or so they were trading at before May 11 when AC made its announcement and the AE deathwatch began.

Interesting. Alarming that he talks about minimizing the number of products they put in front of a customer but can't even figure out how to tell the customer what product they are buying (branded fares). But interesting.

OK, I'll say it. I think he is full of it

Admittedly offering less choices is not too good for many of us, even if that's what most custoemr wanted.

Otherwise, I don't see much in the article that we don't already know. Such as, currently Aeroplan gets your detailed spending from your credit card. And tries to "monetize" it. Will be AC instead.

Oh well, I'll continue blocking spyware (tracking stuff) and advertisements. So even if they know more about me than I know myself, not much will come out of it. :-)

Nasr: Amazon doesn’t put a bunch of product in front of me which is not really relevant to my needs. But most airlines and hotels, I would argue, if you go to their websites or mobile app, they’re showing a lot of different product, even for the same flight. [It might say,] “Here’s five different fare brands, or here’s 10 different room categories,” or whatever have you. Well, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Why would we show things that are irrelevant?
Who appoint this boi to the head of eCommerce?
Does this boi even know what he is talking about.

Says product need to be simplified, proceed to pound every business traveler with branded fare and dumpster fire implementation, for what, $20M in additional EBITDAR?

What a bunch of meaningless PR.

Wish the interviewer had asked some non-softball questions like: "Why should customers continue to spend money with AC during this interim period when they don't know what the new program will look like? What commitment can you make to your customers that the miles they accrue over the next 2 years don't become worthless?"

Top 10 airline? Then act like one and step up like one. MLL food would be a good place to start.
