Interesting. Sounds great just one small problem — there have to be seats to book.
I looked at some Market Fare tx recently. The classic reward should be 50K return (J) for this itinerary. MF was >500K (not a typo).

One would hope that there would be a different inventory depending upon status. Only fair for them to go after non-status, credit card folks.

In the last 8 or 9 months I have been able to book three reward flights at significantly better prices (both Aeropesos + $) than I have been for many years. But one of them, yet to be flown, is on the 7M8 .

With the Aeroplan acquisition, the Aeroplan mile value given to customers has increased. You can see this in redemptions like gift cards, where you now need fewer miles, but it's also apparent with Market Fare redemptions. If the revenue ticket you want is expensive, MF will also be expensive. But it's less expensive than it would have been under the old terms.

And presumably that's a reflection of a increase in the price that banks etc. pay for the points?

If you are a high status, you are most likely flying for work/business purposes, yeah? So why should the company boosting you with miles give you the right to have a better inventory?

I take it you mean to "screw the credit card folks who fly twice a year?" You then should be aware that it is already happening. IKK for SEs. But remember, Aeroplan is still supposed to be a frequent flyer program, not Airmiles. So yes, there is avalid justification for providiging adntages to people who get their miles by flying.

That's orthogonal to the issue under discussion. That's between flyers and their employers, and it is irrelevant to the point made. Plus surely the topic has long been beaten to death. Employers can do nothing because airlines won't let them. Again because we are tlking about frequent *flyer* program. In addition, given the way many/most employers force their folks to travel in miserable conditions (lowest of the lowest fare etc.) perhaps we should have some sympathy to these victims?

That's a very separate issue.

Benner posted this in another forum. Thought it might be of interest here:
As of September 1, 2019, members will be limited to one stopover or one open jaw on a roundtrip award. Furthermore, as of today travel within the same continent (except for travel wholly within North America) is limited to one open jaw, with no stopovers permitted.

I guess things are being slowly leaked

Call me an AC-fanboy, but almost, if not all of these look like ACTUAL enhancements. All at once.
Am I missing something? Skeptics can water down my enthusiasm. Please and thank you.
The free changes and refunds for SEs is pretty darn awesome. I remember some of you, @canadiancow and others alluding to this possible update.
CORRECTION: Ok, the last two points are disappointing. VERY disappointing.

Interesting that they are using the verbiage "temporarily stopping" in relation to RTW and multi-stops. I wonder if that temporary stop will be like income tax being a temporary measure.

@24left
I fixed your AP link in the wiki as it was slightly malformed.
I also added the graphic.
Hopefully this will reduce the expected 1,000 new threads on this, that should start very soon, if not already.
