Yeah that's the only one of GIJZ I've seen. Nothing of GGFJ yet but it just left YRQ today. Seems they've moved painting to there from YQA for some reason.

Ha well that showed me for making assumptions! I find it odd though that Jazz seems to have more initiative about repainting than mainline does. Other than the 321s they really haven't done much other than a handful each of a few different types.

Maybe due to summer schedule approaching? More fleet utilization during that time so perhaps they can't spare a large aircraft to go down to VCV or wherever for repainting?

Also keep in mind many of the mainline fleet have limited tenure remaining with AC. No sense painting any of the E 190, A319/320 or B767 frames, and most of the toothpaste 787s are too new to require the maintenance breaks in which repainting makes the most sense. I sense the 777 rebranding may have to wait until the end of summer, although April may offer a window for a couple aircraft between Spring Break and the onset of high season travel?

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if the 321s are the only current narrow bodies to get the new livery. Maybe a few 320s and 319s that are sticking around for a while will get it eventually. It just seems weird to me they did the one 330, 3 (of only 6) 77Ls and then just the 4 77Ws. Meanwhile Jazz has consistently had a plane being painted since December and are on an excellent pace with the Q400s. Now with travel season approaching that seems like it might be it for a while for mainline.

Perhaps. Delays could be a result of many factors including lack of availability of painting crews/hangars or corporate reaction to the negative opinions generated on this FT forum. But I suspect the painting is scheduled according to when heavy maintenance is due on the airframe above any other variable.

Do we know what the critical driver is in the maintenance schedule for routine repainting of the aircraft. Is it occur after a certain number of cycles or it calendar driven. If it is driving by cycles you could see the regional aircraft that do more cycles in a day come up more frequently to be repainted.

From what I've heard the 777 repainting is on hold until the end of the 'spring break' season, so the next 77W should be heading to the paint shop very soon. As for the 320s I could see one or two getting repainted, possibly a newer one that will be among the last to be retired. As for Jazz being more proactive with getting their planes repainted, they don't really change their flight capacity much for the Feb-Apr high season like AC mainline does so they are able to maintain a constant flow of aircraft heading to the paint shop.
