IKK Query

I did search, but it seems to have changed on a regular basis, so I wanted to check: is it (or is it not) possible as SE to use IKK Aeroplan bookings for flights on which the SE is not travelling (e.g. for friends or family).

Many thanks.

I do it all the time, for NA travel.

Mot an issue for NA travel. If overseas, it's supposed to be restricted to family *and* (or is it or?) if the SE is on at least one same leg. And you are supposed to call.

It would almost certainly be TATL travel, preferably in J.

There are no restictions on Y IKK.

For International J:
1) if you are travelling on IKK J ticket, you can use IKK for J seats for anyone travelling with you, of course subject to seats being available .
2) if you are not flying, you can use IKK for J seats for immediately family members only.
3) if you have a purchased J ticket, you can use IKK for anyone, so long as they travel one of the international legs with you.

Not quite.

** Immediate family members are defined as a spouse (legally married, common-law partner or same sex) and up to five dependant children (up to and including the age of 24, part of the family unit and still financially dependent on the Altitude Super Elite 100K member). Air Canada and Aeroplan reserve the right to, at any time, request proof of eligibility of the designated family members. This verification may be performed by providing documents including, but not limited to, marriage licenses and birth certificates. If appropriate verification is not provided to the satisfaction of Air Canada and/or Aeroplan at their sole discretion, we reserve the right to cancel any confirmed Priority Reward reservations.
My mom is an immediate family member. My sixth kid is an immediate family member. Neither are eligible.

Yeah- of course.

I should have simply stated immediate family, as defined by Air Canada.

Thanks for all the details - very useful. One thing I don't see is Premium Economy travel - does that just count as Y under the rules?

yvr76 Feb 12, 2017 8:02 pm

There is no IKK for PY. The only benefit you get as SE is that YQ (carrier surcharges) are waived for these bookings.

Thanks so much for all the info.
