2 Passengers - Different fare classes on same PNR?
Quick question.

Looking to book a ticket for myself and my wife. Is it possible to book myself into flex and her into tango but on the same PNR? Reason being so I can request an upgrade for both of us?

I'm guessing it's possible but would require a call to the call centre or a travel agent?

I recall when AC employee were here on FT, I asked a similar question and the answer is no, all PAX on the same PNR need to have the same fare class. That is when you only want to upgrade 1 of the PAX within the PNR, you need to split out the PNR first.

I can't believe this is not a more common request. 1 frequent flyer willing to pay extra for their status miles, but travelling with significant other who is not a frequent flyer and does not need the miles.

I guess this is another one of those infuriating "I'm sorry the system won't allow this"

Well maybe you need a better system!

You can always book 2 separate PNR's, and request her U/G when checking in.

He wants to request the upgrade at the earliest time the booking window allows , not the day of

No airline reservation system allows this in a PNR. All passengers on the PNR need to be flying the same itinerary (flights, dates, cities, classes).

Sorry to resurrect this 5 year old post. Has anything changed with this?

I'd like to book myself comfort but my child basic.
