FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: tcook052
This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition , and 2016 edition.

The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. More Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs or should be posted elsewhere on FT as should topics better suited to other forums such as Travel Products for questions about luggage or Travel Photography for discussion about cameras.

While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply her as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

I always book aisle access seats, always
I hate asking people to stand up and move for me, esp as I like to get up often to stretch

I'm an aisle guy too.

I've had to get up like five times in the past two hours for a refill.

Though now there seems to be a new one waiting every time I return from the lavatory.

However, I did catch them making fun of me. They're worried I'm going to drink _all_ the Perrier.

As if.

I am mainly aisle.

I only choose window if I know I am going to sleep and most likely not need to go to the lav. I also don't like bugging people to get up for me.

Because I drank so much.

Aisle, gotta be aisle. Fortunately in some ways I'm blessed with friends who just don't use the washroom, in some cases on anything below a 9h flight. Assumes you can get a set of two which sadly it lowering.

One of the few reasons I like row 31 - no one ever climbs over you.

They never call you Captain Morgan?

Or on early flights they never say, with some Germanic perkiness, Guten Morgen?

I am the same way. All my Biz flight, I take Aisle unless I have no choice or it is the few last rows to get an Aisle. But all my multi-days EYW trips, all Windows, so, I can sleep on the flight.

I like aisle. That way my width overflow can get knocked by the carts and bathroom bound passengers occasionally instead of intruding on stranger continuously. I am not 17 inches wide. I don't dare measure weather I am 17 inches deep at the gut. There is not a lot of extra width to steal on the window side.

Actually, I usually travel with my kids (such a FOTSG), so I get to steal a lot of their width. Too bad the youngest is now 10. He still has seat width to spare, but he won't for much longer.

Get another one, so you have another 10 years to steal the width
