Yes, thanks. It was already posted on the AC website on Dec 24 prior to noon ET.
The email from AC arrived at 3:00am yesterday.
(I always find that small detail amusing)

Hardly worth the effort. Last week I booked a tango seat in Jan17, YYZ to LHR and return, for $698. Just tried the GIFT 2016 code for exactly the same flight and it came in at $686. So the 15% discount turns out to be a little under 2% in real (this is how much money I will actually save) terms.

For the past couple of days I've been looking at booking a flight to LHR in March or April 2017 in PY. When I apply the GIFT2016 promotion code, the fare goes up by $450
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot
It's the exact same flight, same fare bucket, same dates. The only difference is the increase in price. I tried different dates and I used the old and new website, different browsers. Fare goes up regardless. Does not sound like fair/good business practice to me!
I would advice caution when using this code.

There really should be a thread created as a reminder that LHR and FRA (for example) have very high taxes/fees etc. These examples are perfect reminder why:
1. The "base" fare is a tiny component of the actual total cost
2. And therefore, 15% of this base fare below is maybe lunch money.
These are the exact same dates in April, exact same flights, Tango ticket.
First summary is without the code, second summary is with GIFT2016
You'll save that 15% off your base fare, but your taxes and fees etc will be the same.
Nuts.
And so yes, YMMV. Always.
