Boxing Day Madness @ YUL domestic

All Toronto destinations cancelled since 3pm.

The good....I got rebooked on later flight. Now delayed. The bad...to follow shortly via edit.

The bad:

- Checkin desk agent had us line up then handed brochure for Delayed flight line.
- I tried Delayed booking app on web site, it could not help me.

- Massive line developed at AC desk near Gate 1
- I called delayed line 2x. Only 2nd agent could help me. Total time on hold as per phone logs: 36 minutes!! I wonder how much this cost them. ..really best solution in 2017?

- They tried giving me reason as:
I'd checked in. Wait a sec...AC brags in Enroute mag their electronic solutions for passengers. Of course we'd all be checked in. Apparently some issues getting us 'off boarded' in system .

- 2hrs into still massive line up (I'd left it) agent announced no need to line up just call delayed flight line.

- Got email saying I was rebooked till next day. Luckily with no checked bags (see my sig.) I could leave today via my proactive calling of delayed line.

Perhaps it would be easier to post a short list of airport without delays/warnings...

I defer to you for that list.

Also, I like this one better. Maybe it's the colors.

Thanks for the info everyone. ^

For travellers without checked baggage AC could add a Next Flight button to their app. As in, get me there asap.
I'm assuming when you check in and select Zero checked items, this has no affect upon automated booking process, which in this case defaulted me to a next-day flight.

(Do they even celebrate boxing day in QC?

Also a public service reminder: lives/bookings of the deplorable gate lice - like myself - matter

Boxing Day is not a statutory holiday in QC.

Last flight out now is indicated leaving YUL to YYZ at 11:20pm...I be surprised if it makes it. Was weather so bad such that no other planes could be sent? I suspect load was pushed to tomorrow at any rate...

- Last and only flight out (besides 8pm one?) Delayed till midnight. I hope AC is not stringing us along when we could be sleeping in a hotel at present?
I dunno..was weather and crew and airplane availability between two AC hubs only one hour apart so bad that nothing else could make it, given scheduled Rapidair service on every hour and also to YTZ? Were all three airports totally shut down?

There has been freezing rain today. From Southern ON up through Eastern ON. Multiple accidents and parts of the 401 closed at various times.

No kidding. At my place north of the city, I spent a couple of hours outside in the freezing rain, up and down ladders, dismantling some downspouts on my house to clear them of ice chunks. Had ice buildup and overflowing water in good supply today. Some of the ice chunks coming out looked like missiles.

No, it is the Sky Regional series of flight numbers. Same number for this flight on the schedule.

They've got 7065 scheduled to leave at the same time as a 77L flight. That looks to be a special flight. 7565 is an E170.
