What/who do the emails come from?
I'm currently qualified for E35K but at 75% AQM, 40% AQS, and 130% AQD for E50K and think I have more flying planned next year so would seriously consider a buy-up. Looking at the other stats around here, I'm probably not their targeted demographic however.

The offer isn't in the email itself. There's a link to click, log in, and then you see the offer. I'm *hoping* that it's calculating the fee based on current AQM/AQS/AQD but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Do you believe the offer was sent by someone who knows you well enough to make a judgement on your intelligence? Or maybe they are providing you with an opportunity to do something that others have done? And something that folks have asked for. Only you can do your own value determination.

I'm E35K and (on my Altitude page) I have 39 AQS, $7896.69 AQD and only 18,249 AQM... but I've flown four more flights since then, bringing me to 43 AQS, and with my three segment trip to Vancouver & back plus my four segment trip home for Xmas, I'll hit an even 50 AQS and the ever elusive *G.
... and so far, no buy-up offer! I had two last year. One early in Dec, the other around Christmas.

You received two offers last year? Were they the same, or different?

Add a segment or three? YYC-YYZ via YVR? Hopefully they'll push you up anyway. But then most of the E35 benefits (esp. from P25) are buyable with a credit card. For < $799+tax.

On 6 Dec 2016, I received an email saying I was close as of 29 Nov 2016, and they were offering the upgrade for $599.
On 29 Dec 2016, I received an email saying I was close as of 26 Dec 2016, and they were offering the upgrade for $499.
I ended the year with 36 segments last year, and they were booked when I received both e-mails.
I'll be interested to see if I receive anything this year, especially after the 4 missing segments get added to my balance, and after I fly 3 next week. That will bring me to 46 - or four away from E50k.

For what it’s worth I was about where you are at 80-85% of AQM for E35k and plenty of AQD.
Didn't get any offers, qualified for E35k 28/12. Got swept early in the year.

My spouse is about midway between E50K and E75K status, so I used the link that AC provided in the email to me and with my spouse's information to see if it was truly a targeted offer. After filling in the requested information (name, Aeroplan #, email address), I received:
"We’re sorry, you are not currently eligible for this promotion."

Yes, you're right. I just had my travel coordinator make the change. She didn't quite seem to understand why on earth I wanted to go through Edmonton for no reason other than to sit in the terminal for an hour and half! But it'll clear me to SE100k ;-)

I knew I would be way short in two categories but I thought the third would carry me over the top. Nope.
From E35K aiming for E50K: I have 53 per cent of AQM, 72 per cent of AQS, and 135 per cent of AQD. Nowhere near the 85 per cent range being cited. And no email.
I thought of doing a few YYJ-YVR-YLW runs in the past few weeks, but decided against them, gambling instead that my spend would encourage an email. In the end, though, it doesn't matter all that much. Not sure the extra fee would have made sense given my likely travel in 2018.
