Methinks the computers that offer the buy-up don't talk to the computers that track qualification progress.
Ditto here but only $699 !

I don't know how many times I have to tell this story but here goes again. In 2001 I flew YXU - YYZ to get my 241 miles necessary to top up to SE. I didn't trust them to give it to me.

Isn’t that 88 miles? Did you do it multiple times or did you get the 250 min to put you 9 miles safely over?

As you say there is only one way to be 99.99% sure and that’s to fly the mileage. The other 0.01 is reserved for people (apparently) “abusing MLL privileges”.

I'm in the same situation as you. I requalified at the lower requalification AQS a month ago with excess AQD and no more flights for the rest of the year. So I started doubting myself and had to recheck my privileges for 2017. Anyway, I'm glad to see your post that I'm not the only one.

I've moved most of my travel away from AC, but still had 22K AQM and $4K AQD (so about 88% AQM and 133% AQD) with another 2K AQD booked under my AC FF number, and got offered to buy up to Prestige 25K for $449. Thanks, but no thanks.

Was offered a buy up to E35K today, even though I'm going to requalify next Saturday. They wanted $499 and I have 33/35 AQS and 117% AQD. Would like an offer to buy up to E50K though as I'll be at 40/50 AQS and $6000 AQD at the end of December. Sadly probably won't be an option

I probably have the math wrong but I remember I needed the miles.

I also remember the flight. My wife drove me to YXU to catch the flight, and drove back to Toronto. I only had a book - no laptop, no bag, no nothing. Given that this was just after 9-11, this drew some scrutiny from the check in agent, and even more scrutiny at security.

Your math wasn't wrong. Back then everyone got 500 miles minimum on eligible fares.

Nice, did she then pick you up again in Toronto?

$799 to buy up to E35k.

I have a couple more flights this month, which will bring me closer to 35k AQM (I'm around 29500 now), but I know I'm going to fall short and a mileage run isn't in the cards. Hoping the price will adjust downwards as I get closer to 35, though. I don't remember my AQD offhand, but it's more than the amount required for 50k.

Based on last year, I'm not sure that you'll receive another offer if your account has already received one. However, one never knows !

Sitting at about 23K AQM, already over $4K AQD. Currently 35K, got an offer to buy up to 25K for next year for $449. I'm insulted AC thinks I'm dumb enough to pay for that. More flying on WS next year and if there's a decent P fare for longhaul I'll probably fly AC. Bottom line status is worth very little for me when most of my travel is within Canada and I have an Amex platinum.
