Short AQD only?

If you are short only the AQD, you should just be able to pay AC the difference.
I expect to be about $250 short of $20K after my last scheduled flight next week.
I would rather give AC $250 than fly to Ottawa. But looks like I will have to do an 'AQD run'
Better for them as well, free $250 and they can sell that seat to someone else.

I think it's a fair question. No offense meant.
Well, don't I look like an idiot.

Unfortunately not everyone's eligible. Our boss is SE but lost Nexus over a genuine misunderstanding so priority security is a big benefit of status.

So you don't need Global Entry. Nexus, on the other hand, helps you get into Canada regardless of where you're coming from.

We are all Sean Pelievers.

I will encourage all of my friends to buy up if they get the email.
Of course, I have to teach them about what they currently have and what they will be getting. Some of them don't even know they have any form of status!

That's not necessarily a word I'd associate with you... we all have our moments of doubt

Some people don't know what they are missing out on! I have a classmate who just earned *G on Air China. He just tossed the card aside thinking it didn't mean anything. He was quite surprised when I explained to him what it really was.

Not everyone qualifies for Nexus. There's lots of disqualifying criteria.

I've seen people fly on full J fares and not have any FFP attached.

I wonder how they choose who receives/d the email. Isn't this top up also a way to encourage future loyalty?

For the last 18 months, I've been using AP miles for flights and flying Westjet so I only have 16 AQS and $2400 AQD. Many of those paid AC flights were chosen by a hair because I have an MLL Canada Pass.

If I was offered a top up for a few $100s, I'd seriously consider it just for the checked luggage inclusion and MLL Pass discount -- and probably swing a few more paid flights to AC in 2017 to maintain status for 2018.

It sounds like it's targeted towards people who are CLOSE to the next status.

You're not even 2/3 there.

I will have to lok into it, and then get it for the whole family too since I usually fly back with them.

I would like to remind everyone that this thread is about purchasing a status upgrade on AC, and not about entry documents.

Further posts should be directed to the appropriate thread.

Thank you,

Correct; only at 64% of the required segments

But, seriously, my question relates to how they choose. If I didn't fly any rewards this year, I would have easily qualified. Wouldn't AC want to get a few more bucks out of me? And, at the same time encourage my 2017 loyalty?

I would think so but that takes logic more than one move ahead. Which is not AC's forte.
