jasdou was $799 reasonable based on flights that one can assume AC had picked up on?

Well, I had about 49K AQM, 25 AQS, 9K AQD. Personnally, I think 799$ is quite steep for my situation, especially since I am way over in AQD and was only missing 1K AQM for E50K.

I doubt they have dynamic pricing for this buy up option. More likely, the prices are fixed per tier.

He is at 23 AQS, ~10K AQM, and ~$2.6K AQD

SO, it look like AC is just asking for missing AQD in this case.

I just go an offer to step up to P25K for $499 CAD. I'm currently at 21753 AQM and 2941.21 AQD. Not sure how they're deciding on the amount ($399 vs $499).

I had E50K (and the old elite) for the past 8 years. The current year's my first without any status.

So it seems like you can only buy up one level from your current status, P25K for 399$, E35K for 599$, E50K for 799$.

Should I bet on E75K being 999$ and SE100K being 1199$?

The Altitude Status Step Up Terms & Conditions says that the offers are only made to members who are close to qualifying for the P25K, E35K, or E50K. I think that suggests there aren't step up offers for E75K and S100K.

Yeah I don't see myself going to E50 then. I just did a calc, I should clear $6k by EOY but will be close to the full 15k miles and crazy AQS away. I'd like *G but it's not worth $800 for the amount of intl. Y travel I have planned. And I've have to fly a crazy number of segments to reap $800 back when the most expensive seat is now $50.

That said, I'd pay $1200 for the SE100 :P Which is why I suspect too that'll be far higher - the co-pay alone.. I do wonder why AC doesn't variant copay across status levels. Actually strike that, I do know why.

Doesn't seem fixed though, so maybe I'll get lucky.

Just like LMU's, they're using that age old method to determine cost, throwing a dart blindfolded.

Late to the party. I just got this offer in email. Looks like 50K for me is 899.

Rendar Dec 6, 2016 12:27 pm

I also received an email this morning.

Currently at 30k with 5k AQD, offer of $599 CAD to bump up to 35k.

I have some paid J globe trotting later this month that will put me to 60k by year end, so it's a moot point.

"To qualify for this offer, you must be an Aeroplan member residing in Canada or the United States"

It's quite rare for me to see something from AC or Aeroplan that offers more than Canada without including the entire world. Curious.

"The Altitude Status Step Up is offered based on an estimate of 2017 Altitude status qualification as of December 1, 2016."

That explains a lot, if you've flown past the next tier within the past week.

"Should a member purchase an Altitude Status Step Up, and later qualify for the Altitude status purchased based on such member’s AQM, AQS and/or AQD balance, they will not receive a refund for their purchase. Once purchased, the Altitude Status Step Up is non-refundable."

So don't buy this until January 3 :p

Currently at 49,225 AQM + $9k AQD. Offered upgrade to E50K for $799 but already have a TATL booked next week.

My wife was also offered $399 CAD to go to P25K, but will qualify on the same trip.

Your loyalty has always had a price tag, no news here :) One day, you will be able to buy the status without the flights.

Agree with jasdou that most likely offering to buy up one level; however the cost of a friend of mine, who also received the "step up to Altitude Elite 50K status for 2017" email this morning, the cost was $899 + taxes).

She is currently at 48,314 AQM and more than $10K for AQD.

Step up to E75 or SE100K

Considering that if they do E75K and SE100K, it will really be "E75K+E35K" & "SE100K+E50K", unless they do a 2-tier system where a "Step Up" elite can't pick the "E35K/E50K as a gift" benefit, otherwise, it will be very expensive.

I don't believe there is a step-up to 100k offering.

I have the opposite problem. I have $21k AQD, and only 75k miles.

I would like to hop up to SE through a buy in.

I also got the same offer and have about the same mileage/AQD that you have, but I don't have any future travel plans this year.

Can't see me paying $599 for E35--if anyone thinks it is worth it , let me know. My 2017 flying will likely be about the same, maybe a bit more.
