On-line check in time?

I'd like to check in on line as soon as my flights open, and was wondering whether it's T-25 hours, or T-24, or some other time? What's the earliest in advance that anyone has done on-line check in?

Ace Cdn Nov 21, 2016 7:24 pm

it's 24 hours prior.

I once was able to check in 30 hours prior but that was years ago and haven't been able to do it since.

T-24H. I've never been able to do it before T-24, to the second.

Yeah, and it's T-24 to the ACTUAL (well, actual as of what AC is expecting at T-24) flight time.

So if AC changes your flight to leave at 10:20am instead of the normal 10:10am ... you can check in at 10:20am the day before. Even if they neglected to inform you of the time change.

KL/AF (and I imagine others). Varies based on flight departure and destination. I think I did it with BA once too. I'm pretty sure AF YYZ->CDG is still T-24 too, which AF doesn't list on their website.

AC is T-24 for everything afaik.

Unlike other carriers, if you're connecting it's T-24 of the final flight, though, isn't it?

e.g. if you're flying

YVR - YUL - YHZ

...then it's T-24 from the YUL-YYZ flight, not the YVR-YYZ flight.

I think it used to be this way but lately I've been able to check-in at T-24 of the first flight (which may be something like T-28 of the connecting flight).

Entirely agree with Low Roller. Being based in YQB, I always have connecting flights (usually to YYZ) and for the past little while (1 yr or even a bit more), it's been T-24 from my first leg (YQB-YYZ).

Interesting. Only reason I thought it was still the case was a couple of days ago I flew YHZ - YYZ - YVR (first AC flight in a while).

I got the 'it's time to check in!' message 24 hours prior to my second leg.

But perhaps they haven't updated the algorithm in the app.

Yeah, last week I got the e-mail to check-in 24 hours before my second leg even though I had actually checked-in hours before (24 hours before the first leg).

That's not how it works. Try my flight YXU-YYZ-YVR-HKG-SIN, you wouldn't be able to check in until after the first flight takes off.

Precisely. It's T-24 from the first leg.
